Catchi Childs

Catchi Childs was the Official Artist of the 1976 Sculpture Symposium and created the charcoal sketches of each participating artist.
Catchi, an internationally known artist, has had many one-woman exhibitions throughout the world, including: Florence and Genoa, Italy; Homberg, Germany; Tokyo, Japan; New York City; Washington, DC; Troy, New York, Atlanta, Georgia; Galveston and McAllen, Texas among others. She has also exhibited in many important group and invitational shows all over the United States and Europe. She is listed in Who’s Who in American Art, Who’s Who of American Women, Dictionary of European Contemporary Artists and the United States Congressional Record for her artistic achievements. In 1973, Catchi and Henry Kissinger were both honored by the International Platform Association in Washington, DC, when Dr. Kissinger was named Outstanding American and Catchi was honored as Outstanding Artist. Her work is in many public and private art collections, including: the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University, NJ; Hofstra University, NY; the Rockefeller family; Senator George McGovern and the late Bobby Riggs.
She has also been a member of the National Association of Women Artists for the last 50 years and served as its President for 4 years; a member and past President of the New York City Society of Women Artists and a member of New York Artist’s Equity.
