Crawling Venus by Bart Shigeru Ichida
Bart was born in Vancouver, British Columbia and refers to himself as being “largely self taught.” His sculpture “Crawling Venus” was created from two pieces of marble and one of limestone.
The Liberty Hill International Symposium in was the 3rd to symposium he had been invited to. The other two were in Japan in 1973 and in Germany in 1974. He was also invited to work in Denmark with Jorgen Hougen Sorenson.
Bart has won numerous awards and his works can be found in several private and public art collections.
